The Sony VirtuosoTM/Soloist®Language Learning System is the contemporarylanguage lab. Fully digital functionality enables a multimedia based, open learning environment where teachers and students can easily share course materials and work together or independently to develop language proficiency.
The software suite operates on WindowsTMbased PCs within a local area network and requires no additional software or hardware other than SANS headsets to maximize sound quality, so the system adapts easily to almost any classroom application. Digital technology is used for both storage and transmission of information making it quicker and easier to access, retrieve, or archive audio, video, and data files.

A Flexible Learning Space |
The SANSSpace toolset makes it easy to deliver and manage course materials, including  audio and video resources, and to segment what is available for each user. Students can work at their own pace to complete assignments or explore available resources. Teachers may view each student’s progress including time spent and activity within a specific content area, review each stu- dent’swork, and collaborate in writing or verbally with the student.

Comparative Recording Beyond Compare |
Sony Soloist®Digital PC Comparative Recorder Software is a full featured media player and digital comparative recorder designed with tools to enrich speaking and listening skills. Students listen to an audio passage, speak  and recordtheir voice simultaneously. With Soloist software, the original audio and student recording are saved to a single, standard format, audio file. Students can review both tracks simultaneously to compare their speaking to the original program material and change or correct to build their skills. To assess a student's work, the file can be saved for later review by the teacher. Audio comments or corrections can then be inserted within the file to coach and assist students even more.
